Requirements and Testing Methods

1. Support: Device must be able to support an individual in a specified weight range during normal daily activity.

• Testing Methods : Computational model coupled with analog limb in physical prototype

2. Displacement: Device has to stay attached to the user during normal daily activity.

• Testing Methods : Measurement of displacement between analog and socket due to gravity

3. Comfort: Device must be comfortable for the user during normal daily activity.

• Testing Methods : User survey based on sweating, temperature, pressure, and stiffness

4. Size: Device must be able to accommodate male and female adult stumps within a S, M, and L fit.

• Testing Methods : Length and circumference comparison of analog stump with and without liner+socket components

5. Adjustability: Device must adapt to daily volume fluctuations where users may adjust device

• Testing Methods : Adjustment of straps to accommodate for variations in analog limb volume

6. Connectability: Device must connect to multiple below the knee prosthetics currently available on the market.

• Testing Methods : Connection and disconnection from standard male pyramid adaptor
